I spent over 30 years as a corporate executive in international business. It was fast-paced, all-consuming, full of ups and downs, and I learnt a lot especially about people. At the very start of my career as a young graduate, I asked a board director at my firm for advice on success. His response? Wear less colour and fit in. I gave it a good shot, but neither was my forte. So, after years of budget meetings, strategy off-sites, and PowerPoints, I embraced a different path—one that led me back to my childhood love of making beautiful things.

I founded Chouette Sauvage for women who choose to stand out from the crowd—women who are unexcited by the “same bag everywhere” syndrome. Our focus is on limited-edition pieces: unique collections, numbered and released in small batches. With love for perfection in detail, aesthetics, and craftsmanship, I spent two years in research to explore the making of handbags and to find the best professionals and artisans to work with to bring the dream to life. Every element is carefully considered, from the bespoke bag hardware to the custom fragrance imbued in our packaging. Sustainability is at the heart of our designs, with a special emphasis on using rescued luxury leathers and fabrics.

With so much beige and uniformity in the world, I am drawn to boldness and brilliance. My inspiration comes from courageous women of history—like Tudor queen Elizabeth I, an icon of intelligence, poise, and unwavering resolve—and the extraordinary beauty of owls, symbols of wisdom, wonder, and mystery. Together, they inspire the energy we channel into everything we create at Chouette Sauvage: bold, wise, and unforgettable.
